Festivals & Events

We were some of the first pilots to start filming music festivals, artists and other performances with FPV drones. Since 2019, we’ve filmed over 100 events, ranging from Defqon.1 and Tomorrowland, to big artists like Stromae, Martin Garrix and none-music events like Red Bull Tetris in Dubai. If you need a team that truly has safety first but still gets the most complex shots first go, we’re here to help! Fireworks shows & Timecode shows Over the years, we’ve become the specialists when it comes to FPV drones and fireworks shows. Our FPV drones have no issues flying straight through the biggest fireworks shows in existence, as we’ve developed our own safety protocols and techniques to capture these shows safely and make sure we don’t miss a beat. For bigger fireworks or other timed shows, we make special countdown-timecodes based on the showdesign and ques, but adapted fully to our drone schedule. This allows us to fully plan each move of the drone and pre-plan battery swaps, making sure every important moment is captured perfectly first try.

Drone Tech For festivals and events with lots of people, we almost exclusively use our in-house developed FPV Cinewhoop, developed to be under 250 grams and have propeller protection, allowing us to fly under the lightest drone regulations and also practically pose no danger to crowds, performance artists and crew. These drones are made specifically for these situations, allowing for very precise operation in tight spaces but also have enough power to fly outdoors in windy conditions and even inside fireworks shows.

Safety & Regulations There are a few regulations in Europe we have to keep in mind. We have the highest possible licences in the Netherlands and EU to allow us to fly at any festival, even close to airports, military bases and populated area. There are still some limitations though: as nobody in the EU is currently allowed to fly over crowds of people in outdoor scenarios. With our light 250g drones, we are allowed to fly up to the edge of a crowd, and basically over anything else where people are not standing very close together (considered a crowd). This means at outdoor festivals and events, we can fly over the stage, around artists, around the crowd, and anywhere else except for directly over the crowds.

Indoor flying

Indoor flying is an exception, where regulations don’t apply and we often operate over crowds with our light sub-250 gram drones. These drones are very safe to operate this way, as they are light and propeller-protected. We still take great care in making sure no drone ever hits anyone, using our own internal safety protocols we’ve developed using our experience flying at events, strict internal maintenance schedules and extensive technical safety analysis which was approved by the Dutch IL&T (Dutch-FAA) for European operations.

Besides the tech, we are very strict towards our pilots for safe operations and ability to handle high-pressure events and safety-oriented decision making during events. Only a few selected pilots are deemed

We have a 10 page Safety & Procedures document ready to send ahead to any clients ahead of a shoot, informing everyone of our safety procedures, wishes from our side and drone specs, so everyone on the production can be fully informed. Please contact us to ask about this!
